Bayern Munich have been targeting Heart of Midlothian left back Aaron Hickey for quite some time now. The 18 year old showed well in his first full season with Hearts in the Scottish Premiership; however, their relegation at the end of the season means he’s likely heading to a higher level of play.
In addition to Bayern, other top flight European clubs have expressed an interest in Hickey, but he only visited Bayern and Serie A’s Bologna, according to a report.
Bologna has now made a £1.3 million bid for Hickey according to the Edinburgh Evening News. “Despite all the names thrown about, the club has only had one approach,” Hearts owner Ann Budge said. “That was on Tuesday of this week”
While Bayern’s plans for Hickey included him beginning his time in Munich playing for Bayern II in the 3.Liga, Bologna was targeting moving Hickey into their first team quicker.
It remains to be seen what Hickey decides to do with his future, but it looks like a decision will be made sooner rather than later.
