A “thank you” letter to Hansi Flick and FC Bayern Munich as the treble is secured

Dear Hansi Flick and everyone involved with FC Bayern München,

The 2019/2020 season has been one long, crazy ride, but you have made it all worth it.

I remember answering a phone call from Jake back in November where he had told me the breaking news that Bayern had parted ways with Niko Kovac and that we were going to record a breaking-news podcast episode about it. Sure, the decision may have been inevitable, but the timing still caught a lot of us by surprise, even after some poor results in the early stages of the season.

We were so uncertain of the future at that point, especially with a Champions League match against Olympiacos and the Hinrunde match against Borussia Dortmund right around the corner following Kovac’s sacking. Hindsight is always 20/20, but we had NO idea how much of a dominant force we’d become under Hansi Flick.

Since Flick took charge, Bayern has accumulated a record of 32 wins, 1 draw, and only 2 losses. They’ve been one of the strongest teams across Europe’s top leagues and they’ve been scoring goals at will, especially Robert Lewandowski. The Polish ace quite arguably would have been received the Ballon d’Or had France Football not decided to scrap the honor altogether this year.

Nobody was expecting a global pandemic to put football on hold for three months, either. When the virus first started to break out, there was so much uncertainty as to what the future would hold for sport around the world. Thankfully, the DFL worked closely and diligently with the German government, and the Bundesliga was the first major sporting league to return to action, giving sporting fans across the world a beacon of hope. Not to mention the fact that their success gave the Bundesliga the limelight it so thoroughly deserves. Bayern has won every single match since football resumed. We’ve been in for so many treats en route to collecting the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League titles!

ANOTHER HISTORIC TREBLE!!!!!!

All things considered, as we reach the apex of what’s been an immense season, we have been truly blessed as Bayern Munich fans this season. For that, all of us here at BFW have to say Danke fur alles Hansi Flick und Bayern!
