At one point, Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa looked like the next generation of wingers for Bayern Munich. While Coman has developed into a steady contributor for the Bavarians, Costa never quite settled in Germany and eventually took a loan that subsequently turned into a permanent move to Juventus.
Now, however, the paths of Coman and Costa are crossing once again in the rumor mill as both players are reportedly being targeted by Manchester United. Per the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are scrambling to find a wide player after striking out on Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
According to the report, Manchester United’s whiff on Sancho has left the club hopeful it could procure Coman or Costa. Neither player, though, looks like a realistic option at this stage. Despite its deep pockets, Manchester United is skeptical that it can pry Coman away from Bayern Munich (as they should be!) and now the club is losing interest in Costa, who turns 30 next month.
If the Red Devils are still searching for a Bayern Munich-related winger or two in hopes of filling out its roster, might we suggest these guys below?
