Bayern Frauen win final tune-up before return to Champions League

Bayern Munich win their final friendly before traveling to Spain for the remainder of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Bayern Munich Frauen beat Slavia Prague 4-0 in the club’s final friendly before returning to UEFA Women’s Champions League action next weekend.

“We are satisfied with the game and the result today,” coach Jens Scheuer said following the win. “We have now given all players the opportunity to show themselves again.:

Amanda Ilestedt grabbed the one first half goal for the Bavarians, sending them into a 1-0 halftime lead. As the second half wore on, Bayern grabbed a trio of goals from Giulia Gwinn, Lea Schüller, and Lineth Beerensteyn.

Bayern XI: Grohs, Demann (Boye), Beerensteyn, Gwinn (Asseyi), Corley, Damnjanović (Schuller), Ilestedt (Glas), Magull (Laudehr), Pollak, Zadrazil (Lohmann), Hegering (Wenninger)

In one week, Bayern Frauen will return to the UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarterfinals where they will face Lyon. The match will take place in Bilbao. It’s going to be an incredibly difficult match, as Lyon are the best in the world.
