All right, now we’re talking. After dispatching Chelsea in the Ro16, Bayern Munich are set to face Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals. The Bavarians have grand designs for the season, but it will all be for naught if the team can’t topple the Catalans in Lisbon.
This will be the first time these two giants of the modern game have faced each other since the semifinals in 2015, where Barca beat Bayern 5-3 en-route to a treble. Both teams have changed a lot since then, but one simple fact has remained constant: Lionel Messi is still the best player in the world.
Hansi Flick and his boys have a tough task ahead of them. Keeping that monster contained is no joke, as the team will be well aware. However, we have some pretty good players of our own. Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Alphonso Davies, and their teammates will give them a great fight.
