Per a new report from Sport1, Hansi Flick has confirmed that youngsters Jamal Musiala, Chris Richards, Malik Tillman, and Bright Arrey-Mbi will be training with the senior squad next season. They were all a part of Bayern’s reserve team that won the 3. Liga under the guidance of manager Sebastian Hoeness and all impressed through the victorious campaign.
Flick has already shown his continued commitment to wanting to integrate some of the youth and reserve players with the senior squad. Before Musiala, Richards, Tillman, and Arrey-Mbi, he had called up Joshua Zirkzee, Sarpreet Signh, and Oliver Batista-Meier, who have all gone on to make Bundesliga appearances this season. Of the three, Zirkzee has made the most appearances (12 across all competitions) and he scored four Bundesliga goals.
Elsewhere amongst the reserve ranks, Bayern will be without Lars Lukas Mai and Leon Dajaku moving forward. Mai will be joining Darmstadt on loan while Dajaku is all but certain to be loaned out as well. Both FC Utrecht in the Netherlands and St. Gallen in Switzerland have shown interest in acquiring Dajaku on loan. Regardless of where Dajaku goes, both he and Mai will be missed on Bayern’s reserve team. Both could have eventually broken through to the senior squad.
Bayern’s squad has begun preparations for the remainder of their Champions League campaign after being 12 days off following their DFB-Pokal triumph over Bayer Leverkusen. If they progress to the later rounds, there won’t be much time before the next Bundesliga season starts in the middle of September. Bayern has already completed the signing of both Tanguy Nianzou and Leroy Sane, but Flick might now feel the need to take a closer look at the reserve squad and do some business there in the transfer window.
