David Alaba wants to join Bayern Munich’s top earners (SPORT1)
SPORT1 obtained details from a recent meeting between David Alaba’s agents, Pini Zahavi and his father George Alaba, and Bayern Munich’s director of sport, Hasan Salihamidzic. Zahavi apparently cited the transfer fees recently paid for highly valuable central defenders such as Harry Maguire (to Manchester United for €87m), Virgil van Dijk (to Liverpool FC for €85m), and Aymeric Laporte (to Manchester city for €65m).
In Zahavi’s opinion, Alaba and Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos are currently the best central defenders in the world. Alaba wants to be paid like it.
Alaba wants to become one of the top earners at Bayern Munich alongside Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, and Thomas Müller, earning over €20 million gross. Alaba is definitely willing to extend his contact beyond 2021, SPORT1 reports.
“From sources close to him,” they report, “ending his career in Munich is more than something he can imagine but in fact a great dream of his, but only on the condition of compensation in line with his market value.”
For the time being, talks will be on hold until after Bayern Munich’s Champions League campaign comes to a close, unless Bayern accepts his terms before then. The two sides are reportedly not far apart.
TSG Hoffenheim may hire Bayern II coach Sebastian Hoeness (kicker)
TSG Hoffenheim’s search for a replacement for Alfred Schreuder has narrowed in on Bayern Munich’s Sebastian Hoeness, who spectacularly coached Bayern II to the 3.Liga championship in their first season up.
Word in the industry is of several inquiries for Hoeness, the son of Dieter Hoeness. Kicker reports that Hoeness is now Hoffenheim’s number-one target for the vacant head coaching position. Last week, according to reports, Munich was still very optimistic that they could keep Hoeness Jr. Now, however, this opinion has reversed. According to kicker’s information, the Rekordmeister is already deliberating about a potential successor.
It obviously would be a loss for Bayern if Hoffenheim reaches an agreement with Hoeness, but a great step up for the coach. We won’t be sorry, though, if he stays after all!

Secret Agent Kovac takes the helm at Monaco
After personally ensuring Flick became Bayern manager so they can win the Champions League, Kovač will win the French domestic cup with Monaco, take over PSG to destroy it from the inside and force Mbappé out to Bayern.
