Whoops, Bayern Munich’s Arabic-language page did an oopsie. Servus, Leroy!

Well, that came out in the most unexpected way! After waiting ages for some official confirmation of the Leroy Sane transfer, Bayern Munich fans finally have it — in the form of a leak on the Internet!

The biggest transfer saga the club has ever known, the signing of Manchester City star Leroy Sané, concludes with a leak. It’s ironic that after all the twists and turns, when everything seemed to be settling down, fate just had to throw one last curve ball into the mix. If Sane’s tenure at Bayern is half as exciting as this saga has been, we’re in for one hell of a ride.

Bayern Munich’s Arabic webpage spilled the beans early — and in exhaustive detail! Here he is, my friends, in all his glory:

There also are pics from his medical. Sané doesn’t look as fat as previously reported. Hope that knee of his is doing well:

Here he is with the bosses, signing his contract and holding up the shirt. There’s no coming back from this, he’s ours:

And finally, a slew of pictures with him wearing the kit. The kit number is conspicuously absent, refuting Bild’s claims that Philippe Coutinho will have to give away his number. Sané will probably be given the #10 after the season ends, when the Brazilian is safely back in Barcelona.

Servus Leroy! Great to have you here! We expect big things from you!

Update

Nothing major to report, but it looks like Bayern are angry that the Sane pics were leaked before the official presentation. According to Bild, the Arab Bayern website is handled by an external provider, who published the Sane pictures early by mistake. While the gallery was quickly taken down, it obviously didn’t take long for the internet to grab everything and spread it all across social media. Also, it seems that an apology was issued to Man City.

Oh well, it’s a fitting end to a saga that had more twists and turns than the Habsburg family tree. Whoever it was that leaked the pics will probably end up getting a sharp reprimand, but he’s forever cemented in the lore of Bayern Munich fans for leaking what is arguably the most anticipated transfer in the club’s history.
