French midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Tiémoué Bakayoko next on Bayern’s list (le10sport)
Defensive midfielder Javi Martinez will soon leave Bayern Munich, and Corentin Tolisso and Thiago Alcantara may follow him. Tolisso’s future remains uncertain, while Thiago seems to be searching for a new club. If that’s the way the wind is blowing, it would be remiss if Bayern did not have a plan to replace them.
According to le10sport, that plan is to sign two more French midfielders: Tanguy Ndombélé (23) of Tottenham Hotspurt and Tiémoué Bakayoko (25) of Chelsea FC.
Tottenham paid Olympique Lyon €60 million for Ndombélé just last season, but the club allegedly already regrets it. Ndombélé has largely been a bit player under José Mourinho, playing just over 1000 minutes in the Premier League and is often left off the squad for big games. Theoretically, if Bayern wanted Ndombélé, Tottenham would try to recover a substantial portion of the transfer fee they paid for him.
The other player, Bakayoko — like so many Chelsea players — has been on loan, most recently at his home club, Monaco. Chelsea will probably ship him out yet again, if they do not at last sever the tie. Their price for a transfer is reportedly €35 million.
Le10sport claims that Bayern would probably prefer a loan arrangement with an option to buy, like the recent deals for James and Philippe Coutinho. PSG and AC Milan are also supposed to be interested in Bakayoko.
Sebastian Hoeness linked to Hoffenheim (transfermarkt)
Sebastian Hoeness just coached Bayern Munich’s reserve team to the championship of the 3.Liga in their first year after promotion. That feat has attracted a lot of attention, including TSG Hoffenheim, who parted ways with Alfred Schreuder this past June.
Hoeness and RB Salzburg’s Jesse Marsch are reportedly the “hottest candidates” for Hoffenheim’s vacant head coaching position.

Chelsea interested in Jan Oblak (Daily Mirror)
Chelsea’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has struggled this season which has made Frank Lampard occasionally bench the expensive Basque goalie who came in 2018 for Willy Caballero. If one is to believe the Daily Mirror, Chesea are now looking into Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. Oblak has a release-clause of £120m but Chelsea will do their best to try and lower the price-tag. One option is that Kepa could be used in a cash deal for the excellent Slovenian goalkeeper.
City Football Group vacuuming up 2nd division clubs (GetFootballNewsFrance)
Manchester City’s ownership group, City Football Group, is in talks to buy Ligue 2 club ESTAC Troyes. The groups most recent acquisition is Belgian second-division club SK Lommel. Troyes is valued at €7-10 million, probably less than the fine that Manchester City will have to pay for making a mockery of Financial Fair Play rules.
Wycombe is in the Championship for the first time in their history:

Their style of football? Classic English ‘kick and run’:
Fair play to Wycombe! They had a way of playing and they stuck to it. They are good at it and work extremely hard off the ball. So many teams struggled to cope with their style of play. Also have the best set play taker in the league this season #EFLPlayOffs pic.twitter.com/CkSG590h5Z
