At the end of May, we covered Bayern Munich’s interest in Scottish youngster Aaron Hickey. The Bavarians are not alone, however; several other top clubs are rumored to be in the running for the talented 17-year-old defender.

Per a report from the Daily Mail, Celtic, Chelsea, and Lazio are the top contenders against Bayern Munich for Hickey, while Manchester City, AC Milan, and Crystal Palace are also in the running. Per the report, Hearts have yet to receive a formal offer for the talented teenager despite all of the interest.

Hickey is a natural left-back, but can also play both right-back and center-back. Per Transfermarkt, is equally adept with both feet, which could make him even more valuable to a club like Bayern Munich. At 5-foot-7, however, Hickey’s future would seemingly be as an outside-back despite his flexibility to slide into a central defensive position.

Bayern Munich, of course, signed center-back Liam Morrison from Celtic last summer and also has been linked to Celtic youngster Barry Hepburn. Could a Scottish invasion be in the works?
