Malik Tillman scored once in each half to give Bayern Munich II a big 2-1 win against relegated Carl Zeiss Jena. The three points will keep Bayern in first place heading into the last week of the 3.Liga season.

Bayern wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with Tillman grabbing the opener in the 8th minute. Derrick Köhn found Timo Kern who then slipped the ball through the backline into Tillman’s path. The 18 year old set his feet and put the ball into the back of the net.

Jena struck back in the 32nd minute after a poor clearance from Killian Senkbeil. Maximilian Rohr picked up the ball and curled it into the far corner, beyond the outstretched hands of Ron-Torben Hoffmann. The two teams entered the halftime break level at one.

Bayern II got their second goal in the 62nd minute! Once again, Kern was involved in the buildup, sending Otschi Wriedt into space down the left side. He send a low, hard cross into the penalty area, and Tillman made the run and finished for his second of the match.

In the 83rd minute, Hoffmann pulled off a sensational reaction save to deny the equalizer and secure the win for Bayern II. Since Sebastian Hoeneß turned to Hoffmann full time in the Bayern II goal, the 21 year old has been terrific.

Tillman’s two goals put his total to 5 in 6 appearances with Bayern II. It’s a fantastic return for the faith that Hoeneß has shown in him.

Coupled with Eintracht Braunschweig conceding two goals in stoppage time against FSV Zwickau to lose 2-3, Bayern II move into sole possession of first place in the 3.Liga table. Bayern II now sit on 64 point with Wurzburger Kickers on 63 points and Braunschweig on 61 points.
