Following Wednesday’s massive 5-1 victory over SV Meppen, Bayern Munich II will officially be playing in the 3.Liga against next season. If they continue at their current pace, they will also be known as the “Reigning and Defending 3.Liga Champions”. That’s right: Bayern II are in FIRST PLACE.
Led by an Otschi Wriedt hat trick, Bayern overcame a shaky start to nab a 2-0 halftime lead. Wriedt’s first goal came in the 35th minute on a penalty after Derrick Köhn was brought down in the area. After smashing home a goal from the spot, Wriedt struck again two minutes later after being fed with a gorgeous pass from Köhn.

Meppen pulled one back in the 49th minute when René Guder broke free through the Bayern defense and shot it past Ron-Torben Hoffman. However, five minutes later, Wriedt completed his hat trick. It was Köhn, again, who knocked the ball into space behind the Meppen backline. With a perfect touch, Wriedt brought the ball down and shot it into the back of the net to put Bayern II up 3-1.
Three minutes later, Bayern II led 5-1. First, it was Köhn with a rocket into the far corner following a deflected cross. In the 58th minute, Nicolas Kühn added Bayern II’s fifth of the match. Maximilian Welzmüller split the defense finding Kühn who faked a shot forcing a defender to slide before putting the ball into the corner with his left foot.
