According to a report from Bild (paywalled), Bayern Munich have won the race for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Tanguy Kouassi. The 18 year-old center-back reportedly agreed to a deal amid interest from Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Stade Rennais, RB Leipzig, and AC Milan among many others. He joins Bayern on a free transfer and has reportedly penned a five year deal at the Säbener Strasse.
Kouassi, who plies his trade as both a center-back and a central defensive midfielder made 13 appearances in the PSG first team this season bagging three goals and one assist.
After his youth team contract expired, the staff at PSG weren’t able to get him to re-sign an extension. Reports say Bayern will only have to pay the Parisians a €300k fee as training compensation.

Kouassi has earned praise from PSG boss Thomas Tuchel saying he has the potential to be “world class”
While this may be the first time hearing his name, the Frenchman has his share of admirers in the board room of Bayern Munich. Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has kept his eye on the youngster for a while and has worked on a deal to bring him to Bavaria for over a year. Bayern’s Chief Scout Marco Meppe was sent to Dublin for the European U-17 Championship last May, where Kouassi was the captain of a France team which made the semifinals.
