Bayern Munich could target Kevin De Bruyne (TZ)
This is mostly speculation from a Munich tabloid so don’t get too excited, but we would be remiss if this wasn’t included in the Schmankerl. According to TZ, Bayern Munich may target Kevin De Bruyne this summer, given that the Manchester City star made comments saying he would reconsider his stay with the Citizens if their Champions League ban was upheld.
So what info does TZ have to go on? Well, to be honest, it’s quite flimsy. The Belgian basically just said that training sessions under Pep Guardiola were “exhausting” and there is a chance that Hasan Salihamidzic could make De Bruyne a target. This is basically Don Balon tier reporting, but without the confidence to pull it off. 5/10, TZ. Please try harder next time.
Manchester City “not amused” by Bayern’s negotiating strategy ... but will negotiate anyway (Sport Bild)
Again, this rumor was way too dumb to put in an actual serious article so we dumped it in the Schmankerl instead. Sport Bild acknowledges the media firestorm that erupted in England after their last report, which claimed Bayern were going to make an offer of around 40 million euros to begin negotiations. Basically, City were not amused and they made their displeasure known through the media.
However, the report still claims that Sane and Bayern have an agreement, and Manchester City are still willing to negotiate his sale. Does this tell us anything new? Of course not. If it did, it wouldn’t be in the Schmankerl.
