Bayern’s resident midfield magician, Thiago Alcantara’s contract extension with the club has been fixed (BILD)! The club plans to announce the contract renewal later this week. This follows the club’s vice-captain Thomas Muller’s extension with Bayern Munich.
Thiago was spotted at the club’s training ground and office, Sabener Strasse on a non-working day, leading many to believe contractual talks as the reason for his visit.

David Alaba and Manuel Neuer in addition to Müller and Thiago — each having one year left on their contracts — were the prime candidates that Bayern has been eager to extend with. Following the decision of extending Hansi Flick’s position as manager until 2023, contract negotiations of said players have seemingly become much easier, considering the clear roles that Flick has assigned to them and also bringing the best out of them and the team as a whole.
Thiago came to Munich from FC Barcelona 2013 for a €25 million fee. The last piece in the puzzle for then Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, Thiago has been a great servant to Die Roten as he is close to reaching 150 Bundesliga games for the club.
