Well, this was a special week wasn’t it? Two games in three days for Bayern Munich and the cherry on top was that back-and-forth 1-0 Der Klassiker win over Borussia Dortmund.
Just a few hours after that game ended, I was able to sit down with Ian Paul Joy. Joy is a former left back who has represented Hamburger SV & FC St. Pauli amongst other teams during a long career playing international football. He was one of the main color commentary voices for Fox’s football coverage, including covering the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Cup and, of course, the Bundesliga.
We have a wide ranging discussion on the cards for you listeners:
In today’s conversation, we discuss the games from Matchday 28, including Bayern’s 1-0 Der Klassiker win over Borussia Dortmund. We also look at the other teams in the running and get predicitions on how things will end up this season.
Plus, with Ian leaving Fox Sports, we look back on what they have done for the Bundesliga’s coverage in the United States, their decision to provide minimal studio programming, and what the future of the league may hold.
We hope you enjoy the podcast! Please be sure to subscribe, like, rate and share this episode. Be sure to follow Ian on Twitter @JOYPAULIAN and you can find me on Twitter @jeffersonfenner.
Enjoy!
