Official: Bayern sign Hoffenheim U-17 player Armindo Sieb

The highly touted youngster, also called “mini Gnabry,” has completed the move to Munich from Hoffenheim, much like chef Gnabry himself.

Bayern Munich have added yet another talented youngster to their youth ranks: U-17 German international Armindo Sieb. The club made the move public on Bayern’s Campus twitter handle and the official club website (FCBayern.com).

The news comes after reports emerged linking the German youngster to the Bavarian capital. The U-17 player, who plays primarily as a winger and sometimes as a center forward, joins the Bayern campus from the U-17 team of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, with a three year contract tying him to Munich for the foreseeable future.

Campus manager Jochen Sauer, who was extended recently, was pleased with the signing. “With Armindo, we have been able to secure a great offensive talent for ourselves,” stated Sauer, adding that Sieb had attracted the attention of various clubs:

He drew attention to himself in the U17 Bundesliga and also in the national team with great performances and many goal contributions and attracted the interest of several clubs.

Sieb has 10 goals and 5 assists in just 15 (!) appearances for the Hoffenheim U-17s this season, with a phenomenal goal contribution rate of one goal every 59 minutes! Given that he just turned 17 this February, that rate looks even more incredible. Sieb sure looks to be one for the future.

Training with the U-17s and the U-23s will be crucial for his development. Under Bayern’s great coaching staff, it seems like he’s destined for great things. It would be an absolute delight if the so called “mini Gnabry” goes on to become like the star player himself. Bayern would only be better off with another great goal chef!
