With Alvaro Odriozola almost certainly going back to Real Madrid this summer, FC Bayern Munich is looking to bring in a right-back. US-international and Ajax Amsterdam defender Sergino Dest is on the top of Bayern’s list. According to Sky Sport, Bayern is the front-runner to land Dest in this summer’s transfer window.

Dest came through the renowned Ajax Academy. He played for the second team until last year. Since making the jump to the first team, Dest has been a regular with Ajax in the Eredivisie. This season he has registered five assists and won 77% of his duels.

Dest was born in the Netherlands and to a Dutch mother and a Surinamese-American father, which allows him to play for the US National Team. Although he is not yet “cap-tied” with the senior team, he has made three appearances with the senior team and committed last year to playing for the US.

Reports put Dest’s current market worth at €9.6 million, which has gone up from about €1 million since November. Sky believes that Ajax’s asking price could be as high as €20 million by the time the two sides come together in the summer.
