Did Neuer get the idea of his new contract from Buffon?

Tolisso encouraging handicapped children per video-chat (SPORT1)

Corentin Tolisso is such a dear. The Bayern Munich midfielder is taking time during the coronavirus crisis to reduce prejuce against disabled people. He has been video-chatting with children with disabilities and their parents, listening to stories and answering their questions. Tolisso said:

We want to change perspectives and prejudices, make access to jobs easier. I want to help them. They didn’t choose their situation.

Apparently, the player will also dedicate his next goal to a boy named Paul.

Buffon to extend his Juventus deal by another year (Football Italia)

Is this where Manuel Neuer got the idea from? Juventus goalkeeper and living legend Gianluigi Buffon is set to extend his contract for yet another year and stay at the club until 2021. This would make him 43 years old by the end of his contract, which is honestly far beyond anyone would have expected him to last at this level.

Of course, Buffon won’t be the starter anymore, Juve already acquired Sczny for that role — but even being able to play cup games for a team of that level is quite an achievement for someone of Buffon’s age. Maybe he’ll finally get the Champions League title he dreams of, but hopefully not at Bayern’s expense.

The ThoMats Challenge is back! (Quarantine Edition)

The Bayern YouTube account has disabled embeds for this video, so go watch it on their channel here. You have to wonder whether Borussia Dortmund are upset that their star player is participating in marketing videos with a rival team on their official YouTube channel.

Oh well, their loss.
