Salihamidžić sees Kimmich as “one of the best in Europe”

In recent weeks, Joshua Kimmich is getting better and better. He has cemented his position as a defensive midfielder this season. Yesterday, he proved that he can also play at center-back, but not just that — he also scored the winning goal in Bayern Munich’s win in Gelsenkirchen.

Against Schalke 04, Kimmich had a man of the match performance: 95% pass accuracy, 15 out of 19 long passes completed, and the winning goal — all as a center-back! Kimmich is truly the perfect all-rounder. His performances have caught the eye of Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić. Brazzo praised Kimmich and, according to Bild, declared him as “one of the best in Europe”:

I talk to him often: when he looks back on the last few years, he has developed into a strong personality, he has improved in every one of his strengths. Everywhere you put him, he is world-class. That is how he has to continue — he has realized that he always has to concentrate. He wants to win every game, I like that about him. He’s a total pro.

Big words of praise for Bayern’s passionate midfielder. It seems that Brazzo already has his heir for the captain’s armband after Manuel Neuer is retired. Hopefully, Kimmich will continue to reward him and the whole team with outstanding performances.
