Bayern Munich scouting 24-year-old striker Alexander Sorloth (Turkish Football)

Norwegian strikers are all the rage since Erling Haaland blew everyone’s mind at RB Salzburg and then did it again in his first few games for Borussia Dortmund. According to a new report by Fotospor via Turkish Football, both BVB and Bayern Munich are scouting Sorloth.

Dortmund is considering Sorloth as a potential replacement for Haaland if the latter moves to Real Madrid sooner rather than later, while Bayern are interested in Sorloth’s potential to replace Robert Lewandowski. The Bavarians allegedly contacted Sorloth’s teammate José Sosa, who played for Bayern from 2007 to 2010 for more information about him.

Sorloth is currently playing for Trabzonspor on a two-year loan from Premier League club Crystal Palace. Palace bought him from the Norwegian league for £9 million in 2018, but he flopped in the Premier League and was loaned to Gent for half a season. He joined Trabzonspor this season, and Palace has no right to recall him.

Manchester United is also interested in Sorloth and has sent scouts to watch him.

Saarbrücken makes DFB-Pokal history!

Corona virus could force the Mönchengladbach-Dortmund match to become a ‘ghost-game’

After talks with the health ministry, Gladbach president Ralf Königs has confirmed that the game will be played. Mönchengladbach is very close to the German ‘epicentre’ of Heinsberg. They have asked all the ticket holders from Heinsberg to voluntarily stay away and a game with no spectators is officially not yet off the table.
