Jonathan David: another Canadian supertalent for Bayern? (AZ)
One of Phonzie’s Canadian friends has an eye on the Bundesliga, and that means Bayern Munich. Jonathan David currently plays for KAA Gent (not to be confused with Genk, as we all know). He’s a very talented attacking midfielder who sometimes moonlights as striker or second striker. The main thing? He scores goals. He has 18 in Belgium’s top league, with 8 assists, and 23 goals and 10 assists if you include Gent’s Europa League campaign. David also has scored 11 goals for Canada in 12 games.
The 20-year-old has not necessarily been on Bayern’s radar to our knowledge before, but that is a place he would definitely like to be. He told the Belgian magazine Le Vif,
The Bundesliga is a nice competition and I think that’s the last step before a transfer to a really big European club. I might ask my friend Alphonso Davies to mention me to Bayern [laughing]. I have a lot of respect for Davies’s the trajectory Davies has made. He’s an example for me.
David’s contract with Gent expires in the summer of 2022, so it Gent has some flexibility before the crucial transfer window in 2021. They would let him go for an estimated fee of €25m. Transfermarkt puts his value at €20m.
Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich donate €1m, found “We Kick Corona”
Bayern players Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich have issued a call for donations to charitable causes to help people in need during the coronavirus pandemic. They announced the campaign on social media two days ago and have already raised €700,00 (kicker) on top of their initial contribution.
Goretzka and Kimmich announced the campaign with a personal messages on social media:

Here is Kimmich’s own message. Some familiar faces from the Bundesliga have already joined the effort. Here’s former Eintracht’s all-around good guy Sebastian Rode:
Nur gemeinsam können wir gegen #Corona ankämpfen. Für mich daher eine Selbstverständlichkeit die Initiative #WEKICKCORONA zu unterstützen. Alle gespendeten Beiträge kommen denjenigen in der Gesellschaft zugute, die es in dieser Zeit besonders schwer trifft. #allezusammen pic.twitter.com/32DdYW0Msi

Mats Hummels and Leroy Sané, among others, have also joined the effort.
