As the coronavirus continues its infectious rampage through Europe, sport continues to take a hit. After it was announced at Bayern Munich versus Chelsea would be played in front of an empty stadium on Wednesday, it appears that the Champions League clash between the two teams might not go ahead at all.
According to Maximilian Koch of AZ, the Bayern bosses are aware that there is a high chance that the game against Chelsea will be cancelled.
@Abendzeitung #FCBayern #coronadeutschland

The #Coronavirus paralyzes European football. Questionable whether in the coming week the #ChampionsLeague is played at all. At @FCBayern you think it is quite possible that the game against @ChelseaFC is canceled.
A number of games in the Champions League and Europa League have already been suspended or postponed this season, and both Serie A and La Liga have suspended all games for the time being. While the game between Chelsea and Bayern was supposed to go ahead without fans next week, it’s looking increasingly likely that the game will have to be moved to a later date.
Update
Bayern ultras call on the club to suspend all games:
#coronadeutschland #FCBayern @Abendzeitung https://t.co/EdzZjYeuEX
