No April Fools: Bayern Munich and Leroy Sané to resume talks on April 1st

Because of a three month waiting period, nothing can formally happen until the first of April.

As reported on Tuesday, talks between Bayern Munich and Manchester City star Leroy Sané have come to a halt. Many saw Sané’s change in agents as a factor in this. While the reports have claimed that his new agency just wants a lot more money, which could still be the case, Bild+ (Paywall) is now reporting that because of a three month waiting period, Sané’s new agents can’t do anything until April.

The 24-year old German international signed on with LIAN Sports, leaving David Beckham’s agency, on December 31, 2019. Sané was not satisfied with his agent, Dave Gardner, and made the switch. The Bayern bosses weren’t very excited when Sané switched agencies, but they still aren’t nervous about it. And according to Bild, they shouldn’t be. They have reported that the player himself has said that he wants to transfer to Munich.

Sané can picture himself playing for Hansi Flick. What’s important to him is his pay and a roster that can win the Champions League. As for Man City, if they want to be able to make a lot of money, they need to just make sure that there are no major setbacks to Sané’s recovery.

Hopefully the Bayern fans that are still waiting for Leroy Sané to come to Munich can rest easy for a couple more months, knowing that nothing can happen until April. Ideally, this drama won’t last too much longer after that.
