Fiete Arp has struggled with injuries for the better part of this season and it’s caused him to miss out on opportunities to feature for Bayern Munich’s senior squad. Now, unfortunately for the 20-year old, he also has been left out of Bayern’s Champions League squad for the second half of the season.
Bayern next resumes Champions League action at the end of the month when they face Chelsea in the round of 16. Arp’s fellow Bayern U-23 youngsters Sarpeet Singh and Oliver Batista-Meier, however, were both included on the European roster, per Sport1. New signing Alvaro Odriozola was also included in the squad, despite the fact that he has not yet made his first appearance for Bayern.

At this current juncture, Arp has still made only a total of 2 appearances for Bayern’s reserve team in the 3.Liga. He was, however on the bench for their 1-0 win over Hansa Rostock this past weekend, which is progress for him, even though he was an unused substitute. In Arp’s long term absence, Bayern II manager Sebastian Hoeness has relied predominantly on Kwasi Okyere Wriedt as his main striker and deputized Joshua Zirkzee before he was called up to the first team. Bayern considered potentially loaning out Arp during the winter transfer window, but nothing materialized.
