Bayern Munich II used a four-goal second half to demolish Hallescher FC 6-1 on Monday. The win gave the young Bavarians their fourth straight win to start the new year, outscoring their opponents 13-3 in those matches. That puts ever-increasing distance between Bayern II and the relegation zone.
The Amateure wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in this one. Otschi Wriedt just touched Mert Yilmaz’s cross to see the ball find the back of the net. Although Halle found an equalizer in the 36th minute, Wriedt gave Bayern II the lead just a few minutes later, poking home a loose ball from a corner kick.

However, once the second half started, it was all Bayern II.
Timo Kern got things started in the 59th minute with a slalom run out of midfield into the penalty area before finishing to give Bayern II the 3-1 lead. Nine minutes later, Joshua Zirzkee made it 4-1 with a first-time finish from a Angelo Stiller free kick.
Newcomer Nicolas Kühn got on the scoresheet for Bayern in the 83rd minute, when he was on hand for a tap-in after Fiete Arp made a brilliant run, shouldering a defender off the ball. Then, just before stoppage time, Woo-yeong Jeong made it 6-1 with a deft chip of the goalkeeper after a through-ball into space behind the defense.
Bayern XI: Früchtl - Yilmaz, Mai, Richards, Köhn - Kern (72. Kühn), Stiller, Welzmüller, Singh (64. Jeong) - Wriedt, Zirkzee (80. Arp)
“Breaking point in today’s game was the 2:1. That really was an important goal. The game had been balanced overall for a long time, but after the third score we played ourselves into a frenzy,” head coach Sebastian Hoeness said. “We’re on a roll and were brutally effective today. The boys showed their individual class. So in the end it was a deserved win, that came out somewhat too high.”

Bayern II is now in 8th place with 35 points. They are level with four other teams on points, stretching from 7th to 10th place. The Bavarians are now nine points from both first place and the relegation zone. The 3.Liga is wild.
Next week, Bayern II will take on 16th place Chemnitzer. This is a match that the Bavarians will yet again target all three points before a big match against Unterhaching the following week.
