One of the highlights of Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw with RB Leipzig yesterday was the play of youngster Jamal Musiala, who came on for an injured Javi Martinez.
One teammate who was impressed with Musiala’s performance was Thomas Müller.
“When a 17-year-old comes on, the demands on someone as talented as him are as high as they are for any other player,” Müller told Bundesliga.com on Saturday. “Jamal had some great moments today. In some situations you could still see his inexperience. He can work on that over time, but overall I’m very happy with him.”
Musiala, of course, scored Bayern Munich’s opening goal, while Müller added a brace.
Clearly, Musiala is showing he has star potential; but where is her going to ply his trade for the long run? With England and Germany both competing for the midfielder’s international future, his club career could eventually also be up for bidding.
As far as Musiala’s future for both club and country, the youngster will probably need to make some difficult choices sooner rather than later.
Per Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich is in no rush to initiate contract talks with Musiala, who is on a junior contract through 2022:
Update #Musiala: He still has got a junior contract until 2022. Regarding to a professional contract no concrete talks are planned for the upcoming weeks. Will take place next year probably. @SPORT1 #FCBayern
