Kit Leak: Bayern Munich’s away and third kit color schemes for next season hit social media

Remember me saying we were black and white and red all over against Atletico? Well, we’re going to be like that all season next year.

Anyone else think these kit leaks are a bit too early? This season isn’t even halfway through yet, and we’ve already got color schemes for the home kit followed by both the away and Champions League kits. I guess we did start wearing this season’s kits pretty early too, we wore them in the last 10(!) games of last season. But hey, if we didn’t go as far as we did in the Champions League and the Pokal, we wouldn’t have worn them that much. It’s not our fault!

Okay, it totally is, and we’re not complaining.

Anyway, here are the leaked color schemes for the new Bayern Munich away and Champions League kits for 2021/2022.

We’ll start with the CL kit first, since it was released earlier. The kit will be predominantly white; the first time Bayern will wear a white third kit since 2017/2018. The accents will be both active red and night navy. If the leaks are something to go by, the adidas logo will be a mashup of the two colors - the logo itself will be navy, and the letters underneath will be red. The Bayern logo, meanwhile, looks to be a monochromatic navy as well. Now, the aforementioned 2017/2018 CL kit had a logo that was the usual red, white and blue, as did the white away kit from last season.

But I’ll tell you what kit had a light background and a monochromatic dark logo - the mintstrocity from two seasons ago.

And now I’ll apologize for reminding you of that hideous excuse of a shirt.

On to the away kit. Nothing has been released about the color scheme except for the background color — black. This is the first time that Bayern will have a black away kit since 2016/2017, when the kit was gray/charcoal/black. It is yet unknown what color the accents of the shirt will be.

Footy Headlines did, however, provide us with four different colors that the black could be paired with - white, charcoal gray, light gray, and neon red/orange. If the latter is the case, the kit may not look too different from last season’s Champions League kit. My, what a beauty it was.

Bayern has had their fair share of black kits in the 21st century, and most of them have been fan favorites. The 2014/2015 Champions League kit, for instance, was a big hit, and the black kit with silver and orange trim from 2012/2013 wasn’t half bad either. As we know, this season’s Champions League kit also happens to be black, but with giant red diamonds on the front, which, dare I say, is a bit much.

The away kit will be released next July, with the Champions League kit to follow a month later.
