Bayern Munich stormed to a big 8-0 win over SC Sand to end the first half of the Frauen Bundesliga season with a perfect record of 12 wins out of 12 games. The Bavarians now head into the winter break with championship glory in their eyes for the second half of the campaign.

Klara Bühl opened the scoring for Bayern in the 6th minute, and a Sand own goal made it 2-0 in the 28th minute. Sydney Lohmann grabbed her first goal in the 41st minute, to give Bayern a commanding 3-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half was all Bayern with the league leaders finding the back of the net five times. Marina Hegering and Lea Schüller made it 5-0 before the hour mark. A few minutes later, Linda Dallmann made it 6-0. Then, two goals in two minutes in the 84th and 86th minutes as Simon Laudehr and Lohmann completed the 8-0 beatdown.

Bayern’s Carina Wenninger played in her 200th Bundesliga game today. A huge accomplishment for the Austrian national team captain. Lohmann played in her 50th Bundesliga game, which is a fantastic achievement for the 20-year-old.

Bayern XI: Benkarth - Pollak, Hegering, Wenninger, Glas (81. Ilestedt) - Zadrazil (81. Boye), Magull - Bühl (81. Laudehr), Dallmann (70. Beerensteyn), Lohmann - Schüller (61. Corley)

With the first half of the Bundesliga season completed, Bayern sit atop the table in first place with 36 points, five ahead of their closest challengers Wolfsburg. The Bavarians have a spectacular +39 goal differential with 40 goals scored and only one conceded. It’s just a phenomenally perfect start to the season.

Bayern won’t return to the field in Bundesliga play until February 6th when SV Meppen come to the FC Bayern Campus.
