When Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman went down yesterday, fans everywhere no doubt let out a collective groan assuming the worst.
There is good news, however, as the injury does not look to be serious. Per a release from FCBayern.com, Coman’s injury is minor and just a strain:
Kingsley Coman only sustained a strain in his left hamstring during Saturday’s Bundesliga top-of-the-table clash at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. This was confirmed by a scan carried out by the FC Bayern medical department. The France international was substituted in the 33rd minute at the BayArena.
This is obviously fantastic news as Coman can take the next few days to heal and should be ready for the start of the Rückrunde on January 3rd against Mainz 05.
Coman has been the team’s best winger this season as he has tallied five goals and nine assists in 15 games across all competitions. With Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané both struggling at times of late, Coman’s presence will be an enormous boost as the squad seeks to win another treble.
