Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is hearty in his approbation and lavish in his praise for Hansi Flick in an exclusive interview with Bundesliga.com.

The fact that Bayern Munich’s management is satisfied with Hansi Flick’s results is no surprise. How could they not be? However, chairman Rummenigge seconded that by recently doubling down on his support for the current Bayern boss.

“The coach is the most important member of the club’. If the coach can create unity with the team, if the coach has a clear plan, if the coach is good in the day-to-day work, then in my experience that usually leads to success, and Hansi has achieved that here,” Rummenigge said.

It’s hard to argue with what KHR has said. Flick has achieved basically all that there is to achieve, even in his short time with the club already. Technical quality and having a clear plan are two essential traits for any coach. Rummenigge praises that having quality is very important and that there is no shortage of quality in Hansi Flick.

The Bayern chairman went on by talking about how their results are a pure ramification to the work that is put in each day of the week.

“From the start he’s had a very clear plan, he found a common thread, an empathy with the team straight away — that was very important, we needed that back. So, what he’s done is all good,” said Rummenigge.

Flick has certainly created a unity with the team once again. You can see that just by looking at the players. Could you say that about Nico Kovac? Thomas Müller’s answer to that question was pretty clear. Club morale and culture is paramount to a team’s success as well as player retention. At Bayern Munich, it’s no surprise that so much emphasis is placed on culture.

Lastly, Rummenigge reminisced on some of the great coaches that have graced the Allianz Arena. He says that all of these larger-than-life coaches have contributed greatly to the ‘FC Bayern way’. KHR firmly believes that this is something Hansi has cultivated again. Hansi Flick’s success is by no means an accident. With the current play from the team, there’s no reason to doubt that Flick could become one of Bayern Munich’s great managers.
