Favre leaves Dortmund after only winning the DFL-Supercup in 2019 while failing to end Bayern Munich’s dominance in the league. A poor start to the 2020/21 season, with four losses in the first 11 games, Dortmund is currently in 5th place in the league, only winning one out of their last five games.
Rumors about his departure intensified after yesterday’s defeat. The question now is who can take over after Favre? While the squad is an extremely talented one, available coaches remain limited. Red Bull Salzburg’s Jesse Marsch has been mentioned as a potential candidate as has Mauricio Pochettino, Marsch being the most likely option out of the two.
