Bayern Munich has drawn Holstein Kiel away in the second round of the DFB Pokal. After beating FC Düren at home with 3-0, Bayern will face a side located three divisions above Düren.

Holstein Kiel is currently in 5th place in the 2. Bundesliga and can actually move towards an automatic promotion place to the Bundesliga if they win against Hamburg SV tomorrow.

Kiel, who won against 1. FC Rielasingen-Arlen in the previous round with 7-1, will prepare to face the giants Bayern Munich at their home stadium, Holstein-Stadion. Kiel, who has never been in the Bundesliga, are currently playing their 4th consecutive season in the 2. Bundesliga.

To my understanding, this will be the first time Holstein Kiel will play Bayern Munich’s first team. Sport Director, Uwe Stöver, had a short comment regarding the draw: ‘’feasible’’.

Coached by local ex-player Ole Werner, playing against Bayern Munich will be a dream come true for both coach and players.
