Bayern’s interest in Lamptey is still there, but there are others (Daily Mail)
Aside of giving Ineednoname his 15 minutes of fame, the Daily Mail is still reporting that Bayern Munich has interest in Brighton and Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey...and I can’t figure out why. I mean...I get that he’s a good prospect, but it does not make any sense from a roster planning stand point at all.
Anyway, I digress...here is the report, which states that Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also very interested in the 20-year-old:
Atletico Madrid have joined the list of clubs monitoring Tariq Lamptey. The La Liga giants are keeping tabs on Brighton starlet Lamptey, becoming the latest European side to show interest in the 20 year-old, along with Bayern Munich and Sevilla who are also keen. Right-back Lamptey has been a revelation since moving to Brighton in January from Chelsea on a three-year deal and is now attracting admiring glances from abroad.
Latest figures show Lamptey leads the way among the top-flight’s full-backs when it comes to dribbles per game (4.82) and he is also the most-fouled defender in the top division, brought down 3.28 times per 90 minutes. Lamptey also has the second-highest crossing accuracy (46.15 per cent) and the third highest number of defensive duels won (4.6 per game).

Timo stars, but Kai is down with COVID (@ChelseaFC)
It was the best of times for some Germany internationals and the worst of times for other Germany internationals who happen to play for Chelsea. Timo Werner had a brace to lead the English club over Rennes as he converted two penalty kicks. For the season, Werner now has seven goals and three assists in 11 games across all competitions.
As for Kai Havertz, the dynamic youngster tested positive for COVID-19 and is quarantined.
Frank Lampard has confirmed Kai Havertz has tested positive for Covid-19. As a consequence the player is now undergoing a period of self-isolation and is not involved in tonight’s Champions League game versus Rennes.#CHEREN

“Naive” Tuchel might be ready to stop dreaming in Paris (Transfer Market Web)
Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel is starting to feel that nothing he does in France will be good enough. The former Borussia Dortmund boss recently lamented his uncertain status in Paris:
“Although we are living in a sort of a bubble, I know what they are saying about me and my work,” Tuchel said. “Maybe I was naive, but I thought that, after four titles and a Champions League final match achieved, people would have given me a little more credit. They stopped about five days long, but then it all started over again. Extending my contract here? I don’t know about that, there have been no such talks to date. But I think you have to stop dreaming, sooner or later.”
If nothing else, Martinez is a winner (Abendzeitung)
Not many people thought Javi Martinez would still be with Bayern Munich for the 2020/2021 season, but here he is...still a contributor on a juggernaut of a team.
Per Abendzeitung, Martinez has more wins over the span of 150 Bundesliga games than any other player in the history of the club. Martinez has 125 wins, while Thiago Alcantara is in second place with 118.
That is a bizarre record, but I guess it says a lot about how steady and efficient Martinez has been over the course of his career.
