Well, now we know for certain. Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, and Leon Goretzka will be held out, while Corentin Tolisso will also miss the game.

Per a report from Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich’s final training before leaving for Spain offered some insight into what tomorrow’s squad might look like in the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid:

  • Jérôme Boateng, Lucas Hernández, Javi Martínez were all injured against VfB Stuttgart over the weekend, but were able to hit the training pitch. Meanwhile, Bouna Sarr, who has recently been battling his own ailment, was back training with the squad.
  • As Abendzeitung also noted, Bayern Munich II players Angelo Stiller and Maximilian Zaiser also took part in the final training session. The club has until midnight to register the players for the B list, which would make them eligible to play tomorrow.
  • Corentin Tolisso, who also picked up a knock on Saturday, was not seen at the beginning of the training session, but reportedly joined the practice after 15 minutes.

Abendzeitung’s Jonas Austermann also tweeted that neither Robert Lewandowski nor Leon Goretzka were at the session:

Correction: Hernandez is there (thanks for the hints). But Lewandowski and Goretzka are apparently missing.

The talented duo could have been given the day off by Hansi Flick or perhaps were just not seen by reporters at the session. Regardless, Flick will likely provide some insight in his press conference today.
