The most expensive player in Bayern Munich’s history was injured in last weekend’s match against Werder Bremen. Lucas Hernandez suffered a painful pelvic contusion, and it wasn’t clear whether he will play in tonight’s Champions League clash against RB Salzburg.
Bild is reporting that there is still hope for him to start tonight, but unfortunately, he was only able to do some running sessions. Hansi Flick said that “we still hope that he can at least be on the bench.” For now, chances seem good for Hernandez, but Hansi Flick will make the final decision later today.

If Hernandez does play, it would make things a lot easier for Flick. The back four wouldn’t change that much, with David Alaba and Jerome Boateng playing as central-backs and Benjamin Pavard as a right-back.
If the coach decides not to play Hernandez, it would make things a bit more complicated, with Alaba moving to left-back, and probably Javi Martinez playing as CB, since Niklas Sule is out, reportedly due to some fitness ‘issues.’
