Nearly a month since his ankle injury, Bayern Munich fullback Alphonso Davies has made his return to the pitch (BILD). The Canadian speedster was back on the pitch for the first time since his injury against Eintracht Frankfurt for a light training session. Davies is expected to train with the team in two weeks time with the club hoping to have him back playing in the squad by the first week of January.
Phonzie had injured his ligaments in his right ankle in just the second minute against Frankfurt in the last week of October and was declared to be out for 6-8 weeks after the diagnosis. A month later, his first training session on the pitch involved jogging, co-ordination excercises, backwards running and ended with a lap of brisk jogging — all under the supervision of rehab coach Simon Martinello.
With a plan to have Phonzie return to team training in two weeks, the Bavarians have set their sights on his full return against the team Davies scored his debut goal, Mainz, on the 3rd of January. Good Luck Phonzie!
