Bayern Munich is breaking records both on and off the pitch. Even from a completely objective and unbiased perspective, it’d be incredibly hard to dispute the fact that Bayern’s social media team is one of the best in the world, on Twitter, in particular.

The club announced on their official web site that they just recently surpassed five billion views on GIPHY, the net’s largest source for GIFs to use on social media platforms. They top the list of most searched for clubs on GIPHY by 1.4 billion views ahead of VfL Wolfsburg, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Real Madrid, AS Roma, Arsenal, Juventus, and Werder Bremen to round out the top 10. Honestly, I’m not really sure how Bremen breaks into the top 10, but metrics are metrics, I guess.

As BFW’s social media coordinator and Twitter-meister, this is the kind of news that I absolutely love. GIFs may just be a small piece of the social media puzzle for Bayern, but they’re able to produce the kind on content that keeps people fully engaged, having loads of fun in the process. During live tweets of matches, I absolutely love incorporating GIFs into the flow wherever I can and I never pass up the opportunity to try and make it funny/punny.

From Berni petting the ginger Besiktas cat like a straight up movie villain, Alphonso Davies’ TikTok excerpts, to basically any GIF with Thomas Muller in it, there is no limit to how awesome some of Bayern’s GIFs are. It’s nearly impossible to pick a single favorite, but there are certainly quite a few that stick out in my mind as far as being greats.

To cover all of the best ones, you’d literally have to create categories and sub-categories to properly identify the best of the best, but here are some of my personal favorites:

Don Jupp!

This is largely in part because Jupp Heynckes was the manager when I took over all of the social media accounts here at BFW and seeing this proper sendoff was of massive sentimental value.

Ain’t No Party Like a Berni Party

Any Berni hype is hype that I back 100%.
