After a myriad of injury concerns for the France’s national team, head coach Didier Deschamps attempted to call Bouna Sarr into the national team camp. However, Bayern Munich has blocked the call-up. L’Equipe reports that the club cited “medical reasons” as the justification for the decision.
This would have been the 28-year old’s first international call-up of his career. The plans were even so advanced that a flight was chartered to take him from Munich to France. L’Equipe reported that Sarr did not hide his disappointment on Monday evening, but didn’t share any specifics. Sarr posted an Instagram story expressing his feelings on the situation:

France is preparing to face Finland in a friendly before playing their next two UEFA Nations League matches — away to Portugal and home to Sweden. After Real Madrid refused to release Ferland Mendy, Sarr was the second choice. RB Leipzig’s Nordi Mukiele was the next choice, but he has a slight thigh knock. Last but not least, Ruben Aguilar from AS Monaco was called in for the upcoming stretch of matches.
