Bayern Munich dropped Hudson-Odoi over Chelsea’s ridiculous demands

This shit again? Really?

Bayern Munich tried yet again to sign Chelsea FC’s oh-so-promising young talent Callum Hudson-Odoi ... and failed yet again. But Bild wants you to know why. Perhaps you will be relieved that Bayern decided instead to bring Douglas Costa back to Munich.

According to Sport Bild, Chelsea FC’s hard-bargaining Russian boss Marina Granovskaia set Hasan Salihamidzic a number of conditions that the Bayern sporting director simply refused to meet.

Sport Bild writes, “Chelsea demanded various clauses, inter alia: a penalty fee if the winger did not receive enough playing time. There moreover would be an obligation to buy at over €77 million, if Hudson-Odoi reached a certain number of games.”

Brazzo telephoned several times with Granovskaia, apparently speaking last after Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace. But since Granovskaia was unwilling to compromise, Brazzo ended the talks. And so the CHO-CHO train was derailed once again.

BFW analysis

Yeah... Honestly, I am glad this stupid saga has come to a swift end, in contrast to years past. Does Callum Hudson-Odoi care about Bayern Munich? No. The last time around, he used Bayern to negotiate a lucrative new contract with Chelsea that made it virtually impossible for Bayern to sign him under normal circumstances.

Am I at all surprised that Chelsea yet again refused to back down from their demands? No, not at all. And really, even if Hudson-Odoi actually wanted to transfer to Bayern (and he didn’t), I look at him like the “mercenary” that Uli Hoeness once accused Douglas Costa of being.

Good riddance. Again.
