Bayern Munich has signed 19-year-old Portuguese midfielder Tiago Dantas on loan from Benfica Lisbon. As of now, no buy-back option has been mentioned by Bayern. However, it has been reported, first by Kicker, that an option to buy has been established and it will cost Die Roten around 8€ million euros to sign Dantas permanently.
What has been confirmed is that Dantas will join Bayern II in the 3. Liga until further notice. Tiago Dantas, a short midfielder (1.69 meters), has already been labeled as Thiago’s long-term successor. He arrives in Munich after playing 49 competitive games with Benfica’s B-team, located in the Portuguese second division. He has also played four games for Portugal’s U-20 side, scoring once.
It is Bayern II second confirmed signing today after the club signed French left-back Rémy Vita from Troyes AC. The Amateure, now coached by Holger Seitz, will now look to retain their 3. Liga title after winning it in 2019/20.
