Douglas Costa spent 2015 through 2017 with Bayern Munich before moving on to Serie A power Juventus. Now, Costa has boomeranged back to Bavaria on a loan assignment from the Italian giants per an announcement from FCBayern.com.
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidžić is happy to have the winger back in town.
“Douglas will strengthen us on the wings, which is important for our game. With Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and Douglas we now have top players in those areas. This gives the coach the opportunity to rotate the squad sensibly. Douglas knows FC Bayern and will settle in again very quickly,” Salihamidzic said.
For his part, Costa is happy to be back with Bayern Munich after an up-and-down spell with Juventus.
“I’m very happy to be playing for FC Bayern again,” remarked Costa. “I had a wonderful time in Munich with lots of successes and I’m sure we’ll win titles again.”
BFW Analysis
Not much to say except this is another case of a BFW writer asking for something (albeit a while back) and Bayern Munich going out and getting the player.
