In its quest to bring in a top-fight winger over the past three months, Manchester United has swung and missed at both Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele so far.
With the transfer window due to shut in a matter of hours, it appears that the English club is hoping for a late miracle to help it bring in Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman. ESPN’s Rob Dawson reported Manchester United’s interest in the French winger, but even acknowledged it is getting late to make a deal happen:
United set to keep hold of Brandon Williams and Daniel James today despite loan interest. Still want a right winger but Sancho deal looks dead and Barcelona unlikely to agree to straight loan for Dembele. Coman an option but getting very late.

BFW Analysis
Even with Douglas Costa reportedly set to re-enter Munich on a loan deal, it would seem highly unlikely that the Bavarians would even entertain the thought of moving Coman at this point.
Leroy Sane is already out with an injury and both Coman and Serge Gnabry have battled nagging, muscular injuries over the course of their respective careers, with Coman having extremely bad luck with major injuries as well. It seems like Bayern Munich can never have enough depth out-wide and a move for Coman — at this stage — does not seem too realistic.
