Young talent Malik Tillman will be out of action for several months following an injury sustained against Dynamo Dresden. In a 3-0 win for Bayern Munich II, Tillman ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
This injury will certainly affect the club as the center forward had already proven prolific for both the U19s and since breaking into the second team. Aspirations for getting first team action seemed possible, however this injury will surely set him back significantly.
It seems like Bayern are being hit once again by the injury bug, and there are worries that this problem won’t go away anytime soon. The intensity of this year’s schedule given the circumstances has made it already difficult for players to stay fully fit. Bundesliga teams will have their work cut out for them and will need to rely heavily on squad depth.
Knowing this, we should likely see (hopefully!) more transfers in the coming days. According to Sport, Die Roten are close to signing Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca. It will be interesting to see what happens as Bayern needs some additional support on several areas of the pitch.
