Bayern Munich’s midfield maestros Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka have been attracting plenty of praise from the pundits lately. Bavarians have been singing the praises of the double pivot, who combined to score the goals which helped the visitors bring home three points in their Champions League match against Lokomotiv Moscow on Tuesday. While people are celebrating Goretzka’s biceps on social media, the most recent comments about Kimmich came from the former Bayern player Stefan Effenberg.
One thing people cannot stop talking about is the unfaltering passion that oozes out of Kimmich. Effenberg talked about how much of an important asset he is for both Bayern and Die Mannschaft.
“Kimmich has had an extremely outstanding development, he has matured to become a leader, Effenberg told Abendzeitung. “He feels totally at home in his central role and is immensely important — not only for FC Bayern, but also for the national team.”

While talking about the 25-year-old to Mario Basler on Sport1, Effenberg described Kimmich as someone who would fit into the group of their generation of players due to his intense hunger for more.
It is indeed a joy to watch Kimmich play with such passion and there is no doubt that he would make a perfect captain for Bayern in the future. Some people even argue that by the time he retires, Kimmich will become a club legend and might even have more influence on the fans than what Bastian Schweinsteiger currently has.
