Update: Bayern Munich’s talks with Chelsea for Callum Hudson-Odoi enter “decisive phase” for loan with buy obligation

Here we go again, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are in the “decisive phase” of talks regarding Callum Hudson-Odoi.

If I could input an emoji into a headline, the “head slap” ( ‍♂️) icon would have been prominently displayed. But here we are...here the hell we are. Per Sport Bild reporter and resident Flex Master Christian Falk, Bayern Munich talks with Chelsea have entered the...*gasp*...decisive phase!

It’s the final countdown....

Decisively good or decisively bad? That remains the question. Given the transfer-related events of this week (*cough* Michaël Cuisance *cough*), absolutely nothing would be surprising.

In seriousness, this could be a nice breakthrough for Bayern Munich’s squad depth or this could be the precursor to some fans feeling another round of disappointment. It is not even worth a guess for how this will breakout.

Hudson-Odoi would slot in as Bayern Munich’s fourth wing behind Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman if a move is made. Many of you are thinking, “been there, done that”, however, and rightfully so. After failing in a months-long courtship at the end of 2019, Bayern Munich is once again doing the transfer tango with the 19-year-old.

As always, stay tuned!

Update [2:00PM EST]

Sky is reporting that a deal for Hudson-Odoi will be a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy. Fussball Transfers captured the report, which — as of now — Chelsea is denying:

Hudson-Odoi will initially be loaned to Bavaria for one season, and a purchase obligation will then take effect in summer 2021. The 19-year-old is still under contract with his London youth club until 2024, but is now planning his departure due to the lack of prospects of regular deployment.

Chelsea FC is currently denying an upcoming transfer to ‘Sky’, and Hudson-Odoi is said to be in Frank Lampard’s starting line-up against Crystal Palace on Saturday. However, the pay TV broadcaster still reports a planned official appearance at FC Bayern on Monday.

Now, you can really stay tuned.
