Bayern Campus Update: U-19s advance in Pokal and lead league; U-17s take top spot; Frauen U-17s climb to mid-table

We swing around the Bayern Munich Campus for updates on the club’s U-19s, U-17s, and Frauen U-17s.

Bayern Munich U-19

Bayern advance to Round of 16 in DFB Pokal

Bayern Munich U-19s crushed St. Pauli 8-0 to advance to the next round of the DFB Pokal. Led by a Armindo Sieb hat trick, Bayern also received goals from Torben Rhein, Grant-Leon Mamedova, Luca Denk, Mamin Sanyang, and Gabriel Vidovic.

Bayern will now play Carl Zeiss Jena in the Round of 16. Last season, that was the round that Energie Cottbus dump Bayern out of the Pokal.

Bayern stay on top of A-Junioren-Bundesliga Süd/Südwest

In a match between the two top teams in the Süd/Südwest division of A-Junioren-Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Stuttgart played to a 2-2 draw.

Mamin Sanyang and Grant-Leon Mamedova grabbed goals on either side of halftime to give Bayern a commanding 2-0 lead. Despite this, Stuttgart pulled back into the match with a pair of goals from David Hummel.

Bayern and Stuttgart are tied at the top of the table with 7 points after three matches, but Bayern have a +9 to +4 goal difference advantage.

The U-19s next match will take place on Saturday, October 24 against third place Mainz.

Bayern Munich U-17

Bayern split matches against Stuttgart and Karlsruher

Max Wagner and Raul Paula scored first half goals to put Stuttgart up over Bayern in the first half of the match; however, the Bavarians fought back for the equalizer from a Marcel Wenig brace. Unfortunately for Bayern, they conceded a penalty in the final minute of the match, and Laurin Ulrich scored the winner for Stuttgart.

Bayern XI: Hülsmann – Manuba (73. Nsanzimana), Brekner, Aydin, Kabadayi, Wenig, Copado, Ibrahimovic (50. Dibrani), Gertig (41. Janitzek), Sulley (64. Jonathans), Buchmann

Fourteen year old Arijon Ibrahimovic (no relation) scored a first half brace to lead Bayern past Karlsruher 3-0. The other goal in the match came from Marcel Wenig.

Bayern XI: Hülsmann – Nsanzimana (71. Eberhart), Brekner (65. Gertig), Janitzek, Aydin, Kabadayi, Wenig, Copado, Ibrahimovic (71. Dibrani), Jonathans (52. Sulley), Buchmann

After four matches, Bayern sit in first place in the table; however, there are a lot of games on Sunday to be played. Next weekend, Bayern will travel to face Mainz.


Bayern Munich Frauen U-17

After six matches in the B-Juniorinnen Bundesliga Süd/Südwest, Bayern are in sixth place in the table on 7 points, 8 points behind leaders Freiburg. While they only have two wins out of six, their three losses have each been by one goal.
