Per a report from Bild, Bayern Munich’s new contingent is getting a chance to show off themselves physically at Säbener Straße. The results, however, were mixed.
While being tested with sprint training with resistance, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting “sprinted away from everyone.” The drill, which requires both power and speed was right up Choupo-Moting’s alley given his 6-foot-3 inch (1.91 meters) frame and fleet feet.
Roca, meanwhile, was allegedly “the slowest of the group” and will have to “work on his pace.” The good part for Roca is he likely won’t be needing any exceptional pace just yet. With Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Corentin Tolisso all currently ahead of Roca on the depth chart, the Spaniard will have plenty of time to work on his speed, strength, and agility — if the report is to be believed.
As for Choupo-Moting, the 31-year-old will undoubtedly get a chance to prove his worth soon enough as one of Hansi Flick’s primary objectives for the season will be to keep Robert Lewandowski healthy.
