Just before the transfer window has closed, Bayern Munich has brought a familiar face back to Säbener Straße. Wooyeong Jeong, who has recently won the U23 Asian championship with South Korea, will be loaned by the Bundesliga club SC Freiburg until summer and will play for Rekordmeister’s second team in the 3.Liga.
According to FCBayern’s official release, campus director Jochen Sauer was pleased by Jeong’s return and he sees him as a good alternative for the offense.
By participating in the Olympic qualifying tournament for Tokyo 2020, Woo has virtually missed the complete preparation for the second round at SC Freiburg. He sees a chance with us to gain valuable playing experience in the 3rd league without a long period of adjustment. And we are pleased to have another very good alternative for our offensive with him

Jeong moved to SC Freiburg last summer after one and a half years with FC Bayern, where he signed a long-term contract. He didn’t quite fit in Christian Streich’s plans in Freiburg, so he only played one match for them in the Bundesliga. Now, he’s back with his old pals with whom he played a remarkable last season, in which he scored 13 goals and 6 assists.
