Just when Bayern Munich fans thought that Leroy Sane was in the club’s grasp, the universe threw the team a curve-ball. The Manchester City winger fired his agents without any warning, and switched from David Beckham’s player agency to LIAN Sports. While LIAN are known for orchestrating moves for their clients, Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg claims that Bayern will need to renegotiate everything with the new agents in order to pull off a deal. Nothing is set in stone yet.
UPDATE #Sané: His move to LIAN Sports will lead to new negotiations between #FCBayern, #ManCity and the player. The deal is nowhere near perfect. One of the biggest questions is his performance level after his upcoming comeback. Moreover FCB tries to push his price down. @SPORT1

While Bild previously reported that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Hasan Salihamidzic are already in contact with Sane’s new agents, the fact that re-negotiations are necessary could allow Man City to worm their way back into the picture. Up until now, Sane has rejected all attempted by the Citizens to extend his contract — who knows if that will change with his new representatives?
In addition, Bayern are also trying to push Sane’s price down, and the player’s performance levels are in doubt following his ACL injury. While Pep Guardiola claims that the German is well on the path to recovery, we won’t know how he’s doing until he takes to pitch, which could take months.
All in all, what was a very complicated deal six months ago hasn’t gotten any easier. As the Leroy Sane saga drags on, things only seem to get more uncertain. Hopefully, everything will be resolved in the coming months, otherwise next summer will be full of even more drama than the last.
